Creatures of the Night

Updated: September 9, 2025

1 Thessalonians 5:5 (KJV) Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

It is not the will of God for us to have bad spirits in our hearts. Over time, if we leave them unchecked, these spirits will manifest into things far larger than what we intended them to be. God uses the preached word to shed light on the hidden spirits that stop us from being right before him so that we can overcome them through repentance. He wants us to have a sound mind and be free in his truth. Peace exists in a sound mind.

The flesh likes to twist the scripture so that it can continue to live. The creature in us must be preached against if we want to be made whole. Our flesh has to die by the word of God in order for us to change into the people we are meant to be in him. We become new creatures in Christ when the Spirit of God rules over the desires of our flesh. Without the Creator, the creature would rule. By dying on the cross, Jesus gave us an example of how to overcome the carnal nature in us.
