The Depth of a Father’s Love

The flesh likes to run from problems because it becomes comfortable in the chaos of the struggle. However, when we choose to confront our hardships and strive to overcome them, God will take us to  higher heights in him and use us in greater ways. Facing adversity facilitates spiritual growth. Praising and worshiping God regardless of how difficult a situation seems to be will bring us through every time. All the help we need comes from the Lord. As we truly begin to see ourselves during our prayer time with the Lord, we realize just how much mercy he has had on us.

Absalom only focused on his father's personal faults and mistakes, which caused wicked spirits to develop in his heart. He was not present to see when his father repented to God in front of the people of his kingdom for killing Uriah and laying with Bathsheba. Despite all of the heart-wrenching things Absalom did to him, King David did not want his son to die. Instead, it was his desire to still show his son mercy. Similarly to David, God offers us abundant mercy even though he endured constant prosecution and unfathomable pain. He showed us the depth of his love for his children by dying on the cross for our sins as Jesus Christ.
